Hello friends!

Here at Coram Deo, we often say, “What a difference a year makes.” That’s true in life, family, sports teams, and even churches. It’s certainly true for us. Thank you for your support and prayers as we reflect on what God has done.

The year 2025 will certainly be one to remember. A core team was formed, a church was planted, and lives were changed. You’ve been by our side every step of the way. And now as this year comes to a close, from all of us at Coram Deo we wish you a very Merry Christmas!

December has been a great month, a blessed way to end this year. Allows us to share some highlights and one yet to come.

NC Baptist Coats for the City

The Lord has given us many opportunities for mission this first year. London, Mexico, New Bedford, and now New York City. We sent a team to NYC over Dec. 3-7 in conjunction with the NC Baptist effort ‘Coats for the City.’ Our people served with others from our state to pass our warm coats to New Yorkers in need. Our team worked in Brooklyn, partnering with Metropolitan Baptist. We hope to return again next year!

Student Coram Deo 101

On Sunday, December 7 we held our first membership class for students. We had 15 hungry (for the Bible and Chipotle!) young people attend. We discussed the history of the Coram Deo and our philosophy of ministry, while thinking a little about the future. Each of them received a copy of Every Member Matters by the pastors of our two sending churches, Josh Wredberg and Matt Capps. Each student is now taking steps to be members of the church later next year.

Two More Baptisms!

On Sunday, December 14 we witnessed two adults be baptized after the morning service. Both Tim and Alexa shared their testimonies during the service and were baptized in the school lobby as the service concluded. Please pray for them as they grow in Christ and become more involved at Coram Deo. They are a young married couple who’ve been attending since we began. Tim was converted a few years ago, but Alexa just this October. She shared that the Lord led her to faith through Life Group Ministry and the two baptism testimonies in October. Praise the Lord.

Christmas Party

For the second year in a row we’ll gather together to celebrate the Christmas season. We love food and fellowship but a growing attendance number is better. The Lord planted us in August, and has grown us over these past four months. New families are attending! What a difference a year makes. New church. New friends. New ministry. We look forward to next year!

Christmas Eve Service

This Wednesday we’ll hold a service at 5:00 p.m. at Willow Spring High School in the main auditorium (our normal space). Christmas is often the most evangelistic time of the year. We’ve worked to invite friends and neighbors. Pray for fruit to come. If you’re in the area or know people who are, please send them our way. We’ll sing Christmas hymns, study the birth of Jesus, observe communion, and conclude with candlelight. Visit our website for details. Childcare is provided.

Perhaps the most exciting news of December is that our young church is growing! On Sunday night the 14th, we held our second Members’ Meeting at Piney Grove Chapel in Angier. Pastor Brad Lee and his people have been so gracious and supportive of us. During our meeting we officially installed our church treasurer and clerk, and added 33 new members bringing our total church adult membership to 75. We praise God for these additions, and the fruit that has come through our membership process. Our next Coram Deo 101 is January 9-10.

Thank you again for your support and prayers. It’s been a great year. May the Lord give you and Coram Deo much grace for the year ahead.

Merry Christmas!
